Review for Hyde by Laura DeLuca

5/5

Larua DeLuca strikes again! I have become extremely attached to this series and am sad to see it end. Lord Justyn and his leading lady Becca have wormed their way into my heart and taken up permanent residence. I wanted to give this book more than five stars, but sadly that is all that I am allowed to give it.

It's the summer vacation and Justyn and Becca have to work in order to make sure that they have the money to pay for their rent. Not only that but they find themselves to be the stars in a dinner theater production of the dark story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Not only are Justyn and Becca working, but they are surprising their families with a wonderful surprise. Well...Becca happens to have another surprise that doesn't come out until it's almost too late.

Justyn and Becca are about to learn that their summer isn't what they hoped it to be. While they thought they put all the craziness of the past productions behind them, they realize that they haven't. The production of Hyde brings out a whole new case of people who are out to get them, only for different reasons.

With her best friend in tow and of course Tom, Becca is out to make sure that Justyn and her get their happily ever after, even if it does end up endangering not only her life but Justyn's as well.

I love how Laura depicts these plays and really brings them to life. It captivates the reader in such a way that it's impossible to put the book down.

Blitz for Those Four Letter Words by Christina Channelle

Those Four Letter Words
By- Christina Channelle
Genre-Mature YA/New Adult Contemporary
Publication Date- July 3rd, 2013

Eighteen-year-old Jade Reamer is a tough girl with a reputation to prove it. She loves three people and three people only: her brother, her boyfriend, and her best friend. Everyone else is irrelevant.

That is … until Reed enters the picture again.

Suddenly things start to spiral out of control and things aren’t as they seem. Life is no longer simply black and white, love versus hate. Suddenly, it’s hard to figure out which of those four letter words is true.

Especially when she can’t look away from those devil eyes.

I love you. I hate you. I love you. I hate you. Which is it? I don’t even know anymore.

Well, let’s find out.

This 15,000 word novella contains coarse language, angst-driven young adults, and a lot of pent-up frustration.

Oh yeah. Plus love and a little bit of hate.

Review for Blind Sight (Book one of the Celadon Circle) By Nicole Storey

5/5

What would you do if you never knew if tomorrow would be your last day? If you had one brother who hated you, one who loved you, a guardian angel, and an uncle who was more like your father, would you be able to survive?

Seventeen year old Jordan does it on a daily basis. She has seen more evil in her life than most see in their entire lifetime, yet she's still strong and fighting through it all. Jordan is what is known as a seer. She has visions of evil and the things that it does. Then she relays the information to her brothers, Quinn and Nathan so that they can go track down said evil and kill it. This has been her entire life for as long as she can remember, until now...

When Jordan doesn't do as she's told, she is punished not only physically, but emotionally as well. She learns a few things about one of her brothers that she probably never wanted to hear. Not only that but she is now being visited by demons on a daily basis.

When she's forced to go on a hunt with her brothers and uncle, she soon realizes that her whole life was a lie. The demons are coming out of the woodwork and telling her that she belongs to them. Plus, her guardian angel jumped ship. Could life get any worse for Jordan?

When faced with certain death as well as the death of her family, she decides that death would be the lesser of two evils. She'd rather be dead than live alone without her brothers and uncle. Does Jordan get her wish? Or does something derail that and make her life worse than she ever thought possible?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story because it was one of the ones that you can't put down after you pick it up. The author did a splendid job at not giving any details away until she was ready to reveal them. I can't wait to see what's in store next for Jordan and her family.

Review for Hearts of the Soul by Rene Folsom

5/5

The final chapter in the Soul Seer series! I'm sad to see it end but a lot of things were wrapped up and even an ending that leaves the reader questioning what they thought they knew before.

Ella and Jonah are still together and still working out the things that happened when they found out that Ella has Jonah's blood in her. Their parents answered as much as they could but that still left a few things open that they had no clue about.

Plus, the woman that Ella thought was her best friend has a different role in all of this. She has a personal interest in Ella's case but no one knows until she tells them.

Jonah is still running his art studio with his best friend and now Ella. He's still head over heels in love with her and wouldn't change it for anything in the world, even if it is against the laws of their kind.

When they finally meet with the council.....

Bet you thought I'd give something away didn't you. Sorry but you'll have to pick up Hearts of the Soul to find out what happens with Ella, Jonah, and all their friends and family.

Review for Unbreakable Hearts by Amanda Bennett

5/5

The final installment of the Broken series. It's a great ending to a great series and really wraps things up for Bennett and Gray.

Even after all that they've been through, Gray and Bennett still find that it's easy to love each other unconditionally. Charlie is the light of their life and so is the newest edition to their family.

Even though they don't have to worry about Raylon anymore, the worry isn't gone yet. But they manage to push through it and become stronger because of it. Neither of them would give up what they have for any other day in the world. They are utterly happy and it is amazing to watch their love grow even after all that they've been through.

Hannah and Theo have their own problems but like Gray and Bennett they push through it and become stronger because of it.

There are two new friends added to their group at the end of the book but it makes things better. Bennett and Gray are happy and have two beautiful babies to prove it. Hannah and Theo are happy but also have a changed life style which they both settled into nicely.

This is a great book and I'm sad to see the series end but I like how it ended and feel like everything was wrapped up nicely. Even though their problems aren't like they used to be, they still have problems and I think that adds to the character development and helps the reader connect to the character. It was another amazing story by Amanda Bennett!

Review for September Tango by Scarlett Jade

5/5

This is a sweet story of not only finding your true love but of healing a broken heart and overcoming the things that people will throw at you.

Zoe is a small town girl who is trying to make her life around her father constantly being gone and the town going under around her. She also has to deal with her ex-boyfriend who was having sex with someone one she considered to be her best friend.

Calvin is in the military and home on R&R. He's home mainly to see his grandparents, his sister, and visit his parents grave since he wasn't able to come home for their funeral. Never did he except to find what he found when he returned to the small town he grew up in.

Zoe and Calvin compliment each other and help each other get over the things in their life that they need to get over. They heal the broken parts of their heart and show each other what love truly is.

It's easy to get sucked into their story and start to feel for the characters. Some parts will make you laugh, a few will make you cry, but all in all you'll fall in love with Calvin and his charm and Zoe for how unique she is.

Review for Angel Omega: Imprisonment by Brandon Lee Godbee

 4/5 stars

There are a lot of stories of demons and angels. Stories of how Lucifer was kicked out of heaven and how angels and demons roam the Earth.

But this is a story of different proportions. Vivid imagery and a story that will capture your attention as well as your heart. There is nothing in this book that is predictable to the reader.

How does an angel live in a mortal body on Earth? How does he adapt while he tries to get back in to heaven to be with his family and to help fight in the battle with Lucifer.

Betrayal, love, and hope are the main themes of this story. No one character gets the spotlight while another gets shoved in the dark. Each character gets their time in the sun and is consider a major part of the story.

Read Angel Omega: Imprisonment to follow all the different journeys of several characters whose lives depend on each other.

 Excerpts-
He watched her in amusement as she tried biting into a burger that was almost as big as her head. She kept turning the burger in different positions trying to find a place where she could bite into it without making a huge mess on her face. Ahmad laughed.
“Baby, just cut it in half. You’ll find an easier way to bite it then,” he said, still laughing. Camille stuck her tongue out at him.
“I’m a big girl, I can handle this burger,” she said and took a bite out of it. Ketchup, mayonnaise and tomato all slipped out of the other end of the sandwich, most of it ending up on her hands. He was now laughing uncontrollably as he passed her a few napkins. She grinned and kicked him under the table as she retrieved the napkin to clean herself up.
He took this time to soak up his woman’s beauty. Her thick, natural curly hair hung loosely around her shoulders, with a few curls cradling her face, making her look sweet and innocent.  Her big brown eyes were what drew him to her when he first met her. It were those kind of eyes that made you want to protect and love the person they belonged to. Then there were those sexy, deep dimples she had when she smiled that made his heart beat a little faster. Her body was nice, slim and petite, perfect for his tall athletic build. He loved everything about this woman. She was perfect.
“What are you staring at? Do I still have something on my face?” she panicked, digging into her purse for her compact mirror. He smiled and shook his head.
“You’re all good, Cammy. Don’t worry you look beautiful. I meant to tell you that I love how that sundress is hugging your body,” he said and licked his lips. She blushed. She knew that this was his favorite sundress of hers and she also knew that when he got home, he would waste no time peeling it off of her.
“Well thank you, baby. I wore it especially for you since we actually had time to eat together today. What time are you getting off? Are you coming to my place afterwards or are you going home?” she asked, taking another bite of her burger. He looked at his watched and saw that it was already 3 pm.
“I get off at seven, but I have to swing by my house to make sure everything’s okay there. If I’m not too tired, I can come to your place tonight,” he said, rubbing his hand down his face. Camille nodded and tried to swallow the remaining food in her mouth.
“Baby, if you’re going to be tired, I can stay at your place and you can just drop me off at class on your way to work. It’ll be a little early, but I don’t want to sleep alone tonight,” she said, giving him a seductive smile. He licked his lips and grinned.
“Okay, that sounds like a plan. But I got to get back to work, babe. I’m already late,” he said as he flagged the waitress down to get the check. Camille nodded and continued to eat. She hated when they had to separate. At least she had her homework to keep her busy or else she’d lose her mind. She didn’t want to complain about the lack of time they were spending together; she could already tell that he was stressed and frustrated about work and she didn’t want to add to it.
Once the bill was paid and the food was in take-out boxes, they walked hand and hand to his car. He opened the passenger door for her and closed it behind her.
“So where am I taking you to?” he asked, climbing into the driver’s seat. She shrugged. She didn’t have anywhere else to go.
“I guess I’ll go home and organize my notes I have so far. I have a paper due soon,” she sighed and stared out of the window. They drove to her apartment in silence. He reached over and took one of her hands into his and kissed the top of it.
“I promise I’ll try to get a day off this week and you can have me all day,” he said softly, sealing his promise. She looked at him and smiled.
“Okay. Hopefully they’ll let you off. You seem to be in high demand. Your clients see you more than I do,” she said and pouted. He glanced at her pouty lips and shook his head.
“Stop looking so pouty and mad. You know I find that very sexy about you,” he said and grinned, squeezing her hand tighter. She gave him a small smile and turned her attention back to the passing scenery outside her window.
When he got to her apartment, he walked her to her door. He could sense her sadness although she was trying to pretend nothing was wrong.
“Cammy, I promise I’ll do my best to spend some time with you tonight. I know you miss me and I miss you just as much. But in order for us to prepare for a life together, you know we need the money. I want you to focus on school. Just be patient with me, okay?” he asked, caressing her cheek to bring her attention back to him. She nodded and walked into his embrace, hugging him tightly. He lifted her chin and kissed her passionately, making sure she felt the love that flowed through him for her. “I love you, girl,” he whispered when he let her go.
“I love you too, baby,” she said breathlessly. He waited until she was safely inside before he returned to his car and headed back to work.

#2
"So my question still remains; what are you going to do about this situation? Maybe she wants you to fight for her. Sitting around being stuck on stupid isn't going to change anything. At this point, she's probably feeling like you don't love her anymore."
"But I do. Why would she think something like that?"
"Since when did cheating on someone translate to loving them? If you loved her, you wouldn't have done what you did. She's not spending her time blaming you. Yes, she's mad but she's probably feeling that something is wrong with her or she's not good enough."
"What qualifies you to say this? How would you know how she feels? You have nothing to do with this!"
"You're right. If I remember correctly, my ex cheated on me and got pregnant by another man. I'm just telling you what I know," Anthony reminded him bitterly.
Ahmad looked down at the table and immediately felt bad. Anthony's experience had completely slipped his mind. He didn't want Camille to feel as if he didn't love her. He was just going through a difficult transition in his life, which was causing him to make bad decisions.

Review for Immortal Craving by Magen McMinimy

5/5 stars

This book can be summed up in one word. Sexy!

Kale- the youngest, tattooed, "free spirited" warrior has suffered through a lot of pain in his immortal life. Losing the one person who meant the most to him, being betrayed, and being forced to see a few of his older brothers happily in love with their females.

Kat- The sexy succubus who also has suffered through a lot of pain in her life. Her story is much like Kale's, except that she's got the emotional and mental scars to prove that she's been through hell and back.

Kat and Kale go through more ups and downs in their relationship than most do but in the end it all works out and both of them are reunited as lovers. Not only that but they learn a few new things such as Izzy's power.

This book will always keep you guessing what's going to happen next. Will Kale strike out against someone or will Kat decide to stay with him.

Immortal Craving is book 2 in the Immortal Heart series and is by far one of the sexiest books in the series. Secrets are revealed and true love wins in the end.
