Review for Released by Mia Fox

4/5

Genies are real, all you have to do is believe in them.

Suki became a genie in order to save her life after her husband got bored with her. For centuries she is unleashed onto a new releaser until her time to go back into her bottle. She's seen the entire world because of this. Now, here in 2013 she is released to two average teenage girls.

That was until something out of the ordinary happened. From there it's a tale of survival, love, and adventures for Suki and the two high school girls that released her.

Mia Fox did an extraordinary job with this book. It's a tale unlike any other that I've ever read. I was glad that I got to read it.

Review for Together Forever by Vicki Green

5/5

Vicki Green caught my attention with My Savior Forever. She went with a simple storyline and turned it into something extraordinary. Then she went and upped it by writing Together Forever.

Cassie and Jesse have been through hell but come out on the winning team. They got married and had their twins. Not only that, but they're completely in love.

Then there's Allie, Jesse's little sister. Allie hasn't had the easiest life. While she's beautiful, sweet, funny, and smart, she's had to deal with assholes who only want her for one thing. Not only that but she's had to deal with her parents and the crap that they put her through by trying to control her life and saying that they'll disown her for even the littlest things that she does. It's almost as if they don't want her to be happy.

Allie met Shane in My Savior Forever and the two of them hit it off. They quickly became best friends with the slightest (okay not so slight) hint of them going further. It was inevitable with how they were with each other.

When they finally do take that extra step, they fall completely head over heels in love. From there they should find their happily ever after right? Wrong. That is where their story is just starting.

Much like Cassie and Jesse, Allie and Shane have to deal with her past coming to bite her in the ass. Allie and Shane go through hell, but not alone. The two of them have Cassie, Jesse, and a wonderful set of friends that would do anything for them. With the help from those around them, they do eventually find their happily ever after; despite the bumps in the road that lead them there.

My name is Damian Valdis Vesik. I am a necromancer, an ability feared and hated as much as the powers my master and I set ourselves against. Blog tour for Winning Me Over by Amber Garza

Blurb
It’s a typical boring night at work when I first meet the mysterious and sexy Colt Lancaster. Minutes after he leaves, I’m robbed at gunpoint by a masked man.
I suspect that the two events are related.
No matter how hard Colt tries to convince me that it was all just a coincidence, my gut tells me otherwise. However, the more I get to know him the more I want to believe him. Just when he’s about to win me over, a condemning secret from his past is exposed.
Then again, everyone deserves a second chance. Don’t they?

My review

Winning Me Over is one of the best love stories that I have read this year. Not only because it has a happy ending, but because it's not the typical jock or country love story. It's the love story of two people who are considered outcasts in their town. They go through ups and downs, but in the end they come out together, stronger, and happier.

Paige is just the girl you see working behind the counter at your local coffee shop. She colors her hair a different color every time she turns around and she accessorizes to the max. Life for her is normal, well except for the few family things that she's had to go through in the past, but for now her future is looking up. She lives each day to the fullest because the future is never a guarantee. When she goes through something she would equate to being the second scariest time in her life, she realizes that her beliefs are right.

Colt is new to town and he isn't looking for any friends or even to really make it home. He's had a hard life and knows that the instant you get happy, it can get ripped from you. Attaching yourself to someone or something is only going to make it harder on yourself when you have to go. But, when he passes the coffee shop in town and sees Paige, he finds that he wants to get to know her, even though it's against everything that he knows to be true.

Together Colt and Paige help each other change and grow. Paige helps Colt realize that it's okay to lay roots down because sometimes things work out in your favor. Even if it takes something tragic for it to come to be. Colt helps Paige realize that even though her family has to go through the same ordeal that they'd already been through, she doesn't have to be strong for everyone, it's okay to break down and allow yourself to be vulnerable.

Amber Garza does a brilliant job at showing the dynamics in this book between the characters. I loved it from beginning to end.
